1 ． Brief Introduction

Zhang Hongke, male. He was born in Shanxi province in Sep, 1957. He received his master's degree in 1989 in University of Electronic Science and Technology, which is located in Chengdu , Sichuan Province. He received his Ph.D. degree in 1993 (Majored in the system of communications and information) in University of Electronic Science and Technology. He Served as a postdoctoral researcher in Beijing Jiaotong University from 1993 to 1994. Since 1994, he has been doing research and teaching. Now he is professor in the school of electronics and information engineering, Beijing Jiaotong University . He is also Ph.D. supervisor, senior member in China Institute of Communications, member of Electronics System Engineering Committee, commissioner of Supervising Committee of College and University Teaching in the field of telecommunication.

Zhang Hongke was awarded Zhan Tianyou Science& Technology Medal in 2002, Mao Yisheng Science& Technology Medal in 2003. He was elected as one of the candidates of Projects of Millions of Scholars and Researchers in the 21 st Century in 2004

Now, Prof. Zhang Hongke is Expert in the committee of National 863 R&D Project –IP Network Technology in The Field of Communication ， Expert in the committee of National 973 R&D Project—Research of Structure and Theory of Next Generation Internet ， Expert in the Committee of National Fund of Natural Science in the field of Information Science, Expert in the 11 th Five-Year Plan in Ministry of Information Industry, Member of Research and Plan in the Long-term in the group of information and network technology.

2. Main Contributions

In academia, Prof. Zhang Hongke has published nearly 60 papers in many international journals and academic meetings such as Chinese Science, Chinese Science Bulletin, Electronics Transactions, Communications Transactions, Electronics Journal and so on. He was editor and reviewer of many famous magazines in China . He has been doing research in the area of communications and computer and information technology, In particular, he has made in-depth research concerning modern information network infrastructure, network basic technology, network key technology and problems. In the area of scientific research, Prof. Zhang Hongke has finished the following R&D projects:

•  IPv6 Router( The first IPv6 router in China , already industrialized)

•  High-tech R&D Program of China ---High-performance Routing Protocol Stack Software Based on IPv6 (accredited in Aug, 2004)

•  BJTU wireless/mobile router (accredited in Aug, 2004)

•  National GongGuan Projects: IPv6 Firewall, IPv6 Security Router( It also support IPv4)

Now, Prof. Zhang Hongke is doing the following R&D projects:
